Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Storycard app ("Storycard", "the app"), operated by Tijana Hag, Switzerland ("we", "us"). By downloading or using Storycard, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. The service

Storycard provides conversation-question cards for families, a keepsake journal, and related features including Family Mode, Time Capsule, custom cards, and AI-assisted card translation and Story Threads. Some features require a subscription (see Section 3).

2. Eligibility and accounts

Storycard is intended to be set up and operated by a parent or guardian (18+). You are responsible for any activity under your account and for the content you and your family add. Keep your login details secure.

3. Subscriptions, free trial, and payments

  • Free trial: New users receive a 7-day free trial of Storycard Pro. No payment is required to start the trial. When the trial ends, premium features lock unless you subscribe.
  • Plans: Storycard Pro is available as a Monthly or Annual auto-renewable subscription, or a one-time Lifetime purchase.
  • Billing: Paid purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account. Prices are shown in the app before purchase.
  • Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Managing and cancelling: You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your App Store account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds: Purchases are handled by Apple; refund requests are subject to Apple's policies.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you create in Storycard (answers, custom questions, Story Threads, Time Capsule messages). You are responsible for what you enter. You grant us only the limited permission needed to operate the app for you, for example: storing your content, syncing it if you use an account, and processing text through our AI provider when you use AI features (see Section 5).

5. AI features

Card translation and Story Threads use Anthropic's Claude AI. When you use these features, the necessary text is sent securely to Anthropic to produce a result (see our Privacy Policy). AI-generated output may not always be accurate or appropriate; it is provided to assist you, and you should review it before relying on or sharing it.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app, including not to: reverse-engineer or attempt to extract source code; use the app unlawfully; upload content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes others' rights; or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to our systems.

7. Intellectual property

The app, its question library, design, and branding are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or content except the limited right to use the app as intended.

8. Disclaimers

Storycard is provided "as is" and "as available". It is intended for enrichment and family connection and is not a substitute for professional, medical, psychological, or educational advice. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties not expressly stated here.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or content, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Termination

You may stop using Storycard at any time and delete your account and data in Settings → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Effective date" and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence remain unaffected.
